What fabrics or materials are baby?

Coworker just had a baby and wanted to make a quick baby blanket for him. But I wanted to do a lot of different materials and textures for baby to feel. Thinking big spaces including leather, wool, corduroy, flannel, velvet, silk, jeans or something that I found a nice texture. I do not want to hurt the baby. Even I have a few pieces of vinyl. I realize that can not be sure of something the baby, not that it could take several months on the road. But what should I avoid?

I would not use fur in total. the baby can suck or bite on it, could suffocate. Vinyl may stick to your skin. Silk and velvet, do not wash. It's a good idea, but perhaps the use of patterns and colors can be better. Use easy-wash fabric (like cotton or wool) in large black and bold for stimulation.
