Cotton Machine Quilting
Embroidered white cotton duvet, dirty years of use. How to safely clean?

I have a white embroidered cotton quilt and after several years of use by my great-grandmother (who did) and my grandmother, it came to me and I want to get rid of a gray-brown she had. He washed in the washer regularly for many both in appearance but I fear for my washing machine or use chlorine to bleach for fear of ruining the color of embroidery thread. I know the old washing Quilts are a big no-no, but this is not a fancy patch work quilt for the show, he was made to use, but still beautiful. Ideas?

It must be safe to wash like any other white cloth. Only (no) use of chlorine. Embroidery is colorfast thread, or should be.
