Does cotton shrink?
I'm hand sewing a patchwork flannel baby and I wonder if the cotton must be washed before sewing in I have not done this before, so any additional advice or guidance would be great!
Plush cotton will be reduced. The question is: do you want the quilt to look "old", in which case you do preshrink stick, or "making machine" in which case preshrink stick. In general, the manufacturer will have instructions on how to package their preshrink stick in particular. If you have no loft on this quilt, you might consider using only one layer of heavy flannel or flannel blanket of summer "as" stick ".
