Based on butter cream icing question?

I make a cake that resembles a quilt. I base the quilt. My family hates the taste of fondant, but it was the best thing to use for this cake in particular. However, I did it for the base 'll just put on the cake … that will not really sugar paste like normal cakes. So my question is … I am preparing duvet shell only "based" on the top when we are ready to eat. Should I put another layer of butter cream on top before putting the fondant down? I'm assuming that the fund said some of the butter glazing below so I wonder if I should put on extra.

I think the base is "Remove the glaze as you remove it, causing a cake if you just bat usually. However, if you let the cream dry for a while before adding the fondant, I think that might work better. There are no guarantees .. I would be very concerned about the fondant icing cake evolve.
