Quilting question about hitters. Can anyone help?
Ok, so I stick a blanket warm and natural. It is 100% cotton. When you quilt with it before washing and then washed, gives us the type of padding that looks old, because the old pole is reduced. I want to wash the stick first because I did not want the appearance old my next quilt, but then how do we know which bat to get both shrink? Should I go to a third more? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Warm & I love using natural in many Tops on my machine quilting. Here is some information on how to pre-reduce the stick: The withdrawal of about 3% with the first wash. Quilters Many prefer not to pre-wash for the unique effect created by the slight decrease in leaf cotton when washing quilt finished. Please follow these instructions if you want before the batt wash: Wash hands in a basin or tub with a mild detergent. Do not shake or spin in your washing machine. Soak for 20 minutes, then rinse several times. Water squeeze. Rolling in a towel will help eliminate excess water. Allow to air dry or cold or hot plain.
