Can you put toilet paper in my hamster cage?

I heard that you can put toilet paper in the cage for his hamster. Where do I put toilet paper and toilet paper how much should I put there? do u put in the seats or do or tear into small pieces? or do I just have to put a roll on the side? and can also put a roll of toilet paper [Part of the brown box] in the cage and remove any blank paper out of it?
