Quilt Block Irish

Quilt create a complex design using only simple forms

Quilt designs are created by combining different blocks that have changes colors.

A block is the basic unit of a top blanket. In general, the blocks are square. They can be any size, and often a quilt is made by several blocks with the same design. They can be fitted into smaller pieces (called patches) or can apply? It is also possible that a block can be a piece of cloth.

The smallest components of a block are called plaques. Forms can be different – triangles, rectangles, squares, diamonds, and curves – But the idea is to sew patches together and with a square.

By changing the shape of the plates in a given block (eg, replacement of the triangles of places) and / or change the location of the color components (eg, changing light-dark cloth fabric) can create a whole new quilt design while maintaining the Building your quilt the same.

Simple is the name of the game for many Quilters. Using one or two forms for every room of your quilt, it is easy to sewing and squares and triangles offer many advantages in terms of simplicity. As a beginner Quilter, by simple sewing gives you the opportunity to focus learning and practice the quilt techniques that the basic things that you use in your business planning.

Interesting variations in quilt blocks can be achieved through placement of tissues, and how each patch is divided.

A simple nine-patch quilt block can be used as an example of the difference block that can look just by changing the placement of colors within nine points of a block.

Using only two colors of fabric into squares Alternate creates a design like a chessboard. With the same nine patch of two colors of fabrics, using only the squares of each block, you can create a pattern that looks like a big X on your quilt, simply by placing the colors in a given position in each block. Thus the Irish Channel, and its variations.

Add a little more complex, can take some of the squares into blocks and split in half from corner to corner (commonly called half-square triangles in the quilting world) and create a star design.

Using only half square triangles and square patches, simply changing the order of tissues, turn your board square or a basket, or leaf shape, a form of bow tie, or even a series of diamonds.

Another type of triangle that is easy to do is quarter of triangle. This triangle is cut half square triangles, squares, then cut half square triangles again, and creating four small isosceles triangles.

You can add to the complexity of its design, increasing the number of colors in your quilt, and its new design changes. What was a black and white pictures can be transformed into a block that resembles the letter H.

Your block may appear to be in 3 dimensions through the use of colors specific designated areas.

All these design changes can be created using only three basic shapes – squares, triangles, squares quarter and a half square triangles – plus a little imagination in placing their colors.

Set as sewing units, which may seem totally different. For example, you can take blocks of two triangles simple average of the square, where columns, alternating the direction of the cut triangle and a quilt-like zigzag columns. Using the same blocks, placing them so that all the diagonals are facing the same direction, your quilt might be for scrapping of an old quilt.
