Is it a rotary cutting mat used to be blocked?

I have a rotary cutting mat used for healing for cutting fabric for quilting and I wondered if I could use to block knitted squares?

I have a self healing cutting mat and had no luck trying to block my items point on this issue. What I think is perfect, however, were carpets of moss for children. Can be locked to a larger area of the blockage.
