What is good sewing machine for sewing and embroidery?

I'm one step up from beginner. Functions do not need padding or overlock. It would be nice to have a machine that can be set to go forward or back (I saw the Singer On the contrary, when you press a lever, but do not want to maintain lever all the time if I have a whole line). I've heard of the singer and sister brand, but I'm not sure which one is better. I want something less than $ 1,000. What would you recommend I get the machine? Your question is a bit like asking what do you buy shoes … Sewing machines are something that you really need to try for yourself before deciding to buy. I sewed a lot of types and brands of machines over the years … some of them feel like old friends instantly, and some people think I'm suddenly pushed the toes in rather than fingers. And instead of a unique combination machine, many people find that they prefer an embroidery sewing machine and one machine. Some machines low cost are almost impossible to find parts for. Others simply do not have much time. Another however, are so vague that makes it really hard to sew. And services brokerage, private guide classes, may be important to learn to use a machine with a minimum of frustration. So I suggest you go out and try different machines in the best local dealers all, and hear how the dealer is done. And although I hate to be pessimistic, wondering who manages the service warranty if the dealer folds … with manufacturers, you must send the machine to the factory for warranty service.
