Quilting for Beginners: How Beautiful Quilt heirlooms in your family can enjoy Generations
Did you know over 6 million Quilters Beginner decided to learn to blanket in the last 3 years?
This brings the total number of Quilters in about 27 million – that only the United States. And most of these seamstresses, like myself, are presented with the design and the limited capacity of the paint.
Quilting is a great way to create a work of art with material. It is understood that the "paint" will not be perfect, and the colors and patterns are limited to what is available in a quilt shop or dyed fabrics hand.
Here are my top tips to help you get started in making quilts for you, your children and grandchildren:
- Combine the blocks to create your quilt fabric. Changing lifestyles in a block as the replacement of triangles and squares of light fabric switching fabric dark, you can create an entirely new quilt. And you can always keep your quilt construction thereof.
- Simple is the name of Quilters game for many. As early Quilter, focus on learning and practice of basic quilt making techniques that will have to develop your business.
- Use one or two forms for each quilt patches. This makes it easier to sew a quilt together. Squares and triangles offer many advantages in terms of simplicity.
- Remember, interesting variations in quilt blocks are achieved only by where you place the fabrics in your quilt block, and how each patch is divided into the quilt pattern.
8 Quilting Patterns easy to start
Quilt Pattern 1: A single course of nine patch quilt blocks can be used as an example of the difference block that can look just by changing the location of colors in the nine parts of a single block. Using only two colors of fabric in alternating frames creates a checkerboard design.
Quilt Pattern 2: With nine of the same patch of two colors web, using only the square of each block, you can create a pattern duvet cover that looks like a large X.
Quilt Patterns 3 and 4: Want more of a challenge? Take a few squares in the blocks and split in half from corner to corner (commonly called half-square triangle Quilting in the world), and create an Ohio Star block or quilt grinder.
Quilt Patterns 5,6,7 and 8: Change the location of the tissue again, and your block is transformed into a May Basket Quilt Block, a Maple Leaf Quilt Block, Bow Tie block, or even a series of diamonds, diamonds known as cleavage.
Increasing the number of colors of the quilt, and design changes again. And in just two basic shapes (squares and triangles), can create all the design changes.
Quilts are incredible works of art that have survived the test of time and will continue as long as the imagination and fabric for quilting.
Happy quilting!
